Digital Learning

Durack School has an ongoing commitment to the use of digital technologies as a tool for teaching and learning. We have chosen Apple iPads as our platform for digital learning and place a strong emphasis on integrating technology into teaching and learning with a focus on experiences that encourage the use of technology for communication, creativity and critical thinking.

1:1 iPad Learning Program

At Durack School, students in Years 2–6 participate in our 1:1 iPad Learning Program. Each student is allocated their own iPad to support learning across all curriculum areas throughout the school day.

This program equips students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to navigate an increasingly digital world. iPads are used as powerful tools for learning, enabling students to communicate ideas, demonstrate their understanding creatively, and access and evaluate information effectively.

A key part of the program is developing responsible digital practices. Students engage in lessons that promote safe, respectful, and thoughtful use of technology, helping them to manage potential risks in the online environment.

Students are expected to care for their devices and follow the school’s Acceptable Use Agreement for Technology, ensuring iPads are used responsibly to enhance learning.

Digital Learning in Transition and Year One

Students in Transition and Year One classes have access to a shared class set of iPads. Students utilise these devices as a tool for learning across a range of curriculum areas to build information technology skills, access information and creatively demonstrate their learning.
