WELCOME TO DURACK SCHOOL

On behalf of our dedicated staff, students, and families, I warmly welcome you to Durack School.

At Durack, we are proud to be a learning community guided by our vision: Every Learner Making Progress. This vision reflects our unwavering belief that every child is capable of growth, achievement and success. We are committed to ensuring that all students are supported to reach their individual learning goals through high-quality teaching, strong relationships, and a safe, inclusive environment.

Our school motto, Dignity and Determination, underpins our approach to education. We encourage our students to approach their learning with perseverance and pride, knowing that effort and resilience are key to personal and academic success.

We are a values-driven school, and our core values of Respect, Responsibility, and Kindness are embedded in everything we do. These values shape the way we interact, learn and grow together. We teach and model respectful behaviour, not only towards others but also towards ourselves, our learning and our environment. Respect is the foundation of our school culture — it fosters trust, safety, and a sense of belonging.

Our Code of Conduct — Be Respectful, Engage in Learning, and Feel Valued and Safe — sets clear expectations for all members of our school community. We believe that when students feel safe and valued, they are empowered to take risks in their learning, build meaningful friendships, and contribute positively to their community.

At Durack, we set high expectations for all learners. Our students are encouraged to work hard, take responsibility for their learning, and support one another in achieving their goals. We celebrate effort, progress, and achievement, recognising that success looks different for every child. Our teachers are passionate and skilled professionals who differentiate learning to meet the diverse needs of our students, ensuring that every learner is challenged and supported.

We place a strong emphasis on student wellbeing, knowing that wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. Our school provides a nurturing environment where students feel connected, cared for, and confident. We actively promote positive relationships, resilience, and emotional literacy, and we work closely with families to support the holistic development of every child.
