On Wednesday 3rd May, Durack Primary Writers’ Group participated in a workshop with Johanna Bell, (author of ‘Too Many Cheeky Dogs’). The children created descriptions of their own cheeky animals, and collaboratively edited their writing to create a cohesive and entertaining picture book. Students also created ink and water colour illustrations. These illustrations and the writing will be co-ordinated by a graphic designer into a digital book which will be published by the school. This workshop was funded by the City of Palmerston as part of ‘The Voices of Palmerston’ initiative. What a fantastic experience for our aspiring writers!
