On Thursday 6th April at assembly, Sue Sears, the Safety House Coordinator spoke about the Safety House Program. A Safety House can be used by children when they are feeling frightened, unsafe, threatened or unsure. Children were reminded of the three R's which are Recognise, React and Report. Sue spoke to the children about who they could report to including parents, teachers, police, Safety Houses and how to recognise a Safety House.
Unfortunately there are not a lot of safety houses in Durack, please see the map and highlighted houses. If you are interested in being a Safety House, please go this web page for more information. http://www.pfes.nt.gov.au/Police/Young-people/Safety-house.aspx
