This year 22 Year 5/6 students practised a repertoire of 12 songs for the 37th annual Beat Festival. The choir performed on Friday 16 September at the Darwin Entertainment Centre.
The Beat Festival is an annual event which showcases the musical talents of primary, middle and senior school students from NT Government Schools across the Territory. In 2016 the show focused on an intergalactic theme and was certainly a 'Stellar' production!
After months of rehearsals, the students’ dedication, commitment and hard work culminated in an outstanding performance. Prior to the show the students were nervous and excited however afterward they all agreed that the Durack School Beat Choir had performed exceedingly well. They had a wonderful time in being part of a fantastic show. Congratulations to the choir and Mrs Walker for a great performance and being wonderful ambassadors for Durack School. The students' parents should also be thanked for their encouragement and support.
